Xbox (1 & 360)

What is the Xbox? It is a sixth generation era console used for video game playing made by microsoft Corporation. It directly competes with Sony's PlayStation 2, and in an indirect way with the nintendo gamecube. It was launched on November 15, 2001 in America and in 2002 in Europe, Japan and Australia.

The xbox is the antecedent to Microsoft's xbox 360 console. Basically it is used mostly for gamming. What can you play on it? Noteworthy launch names for the console are : Combat Evolved, dead or Alive 3, project Gotham racing, and Munch's Oddysee.Contents

xbox is the first console to add in a hard disk for storing saved games in compresses ZIPs and also different content from xbox live. Thanks to it you didnt needed anymore separate memory cards. Most games used the hard drive also as a disk cache, to faster load the game.

And no more soundless gamming thanks to xbox. "Custom soundtracks," is another particularly characteristic permitted by the hard drive. If you are an xbox possessor you can rip melodies from normal audio CDs into it. This mean you can play your custom soundtrack on your xbox games that permit such a thing.

The unique game controller plan, which was mostly large, was often criticized since it wasnt fitted for those that had small hands. It was also said that it caused some cramping of the hands of the users. But what does that mean to a gamer, no?

But lets not be so permissive, shall we? Comfort is important so due to these criticisms, they introduced a smaller controller. And this really made our lives easier.

In August 2005, NVIDIA released the xbox 360 after stopping the production of the old model.

This new model was equipped with a detachable hard drive add-on and supported a limited division of the Xbox's records using emulation. Of course they are periodically updated especially to add compatibility for those older games you just love.

Thanks to all those new gadgets and technological inventions we, the gamers, are saved from boredom and playing the same games over and over again. And most important we can always replay or favorite one, though it was launched 5 years ago.

Yoga Plans for Anxiety Relief

many of us have heard a co-worker or friend say, I would love to try a Yoga class, but I dont have time for Yoga practice. Heres another good one: Im going to start eating better lunches, when I have time to pack one.

The problem is a perceived lack of time, which has become an excuse for bad health habits. As most of us know, you cannot put a price tag on good health, but when your health is poor, you will pay anything for a day without pain or even less pain.

The worst part about a perceived lack of time is that the real issue is lack of control over our bad habits. This is one of many reasons for anxiety. To live a healthier lifestyle will establish control of our habits and reduce anxiety altogether.

Lets look at some strategies for ridding or reducing anxiety in your life. many people do not write a to do list at the beginning of a day. This entails having the discipline to plan our day. If you do this the night before, and pack a lunch, you will take back control of your day.

When you have a to do list, you will have extra time. This is because you spend less time wondering, What should I do now? Some of the most successful people on this planet have created a habit of time management, which has drastically lowered their anxiety levels.

Lastly, when someone has extra time, the effects of a regular Yoga class, a walk, or a healthy lunch, will add up over time.

Useful Tips for Avoiding Flood Damage

What do you think will be the lasting memory of summer 2007 for most people?

Gordon Brown becoming the new Prime Minister of Great Britain? The memorial concert for Princess Diana at Wembley Stadium? Perhaps the image of a burning car being driven into glasgow Airport?

Each of these events has their own merits but for many people summer 2007 will be remembered for the weather and the flooding that has hit many parts of the UK. This article looks at recent weather patterns and gives some tips on how businesses can try to avoid flooding in the future.

Rising temperatures, warmer winters and even hotter summers have been the talk from experts when it comes to climate change but recent years has seen worldwide misery and destruction when it comes to the weather.

The 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami in the Indian ocean brought with it devastation and loss beyond belief with according to united Nations figures 229,866 people lost, including 186,983 dead and 42,883 missing.

2005 saw hurricane Katrina rip through many parts of the united States with at least 1,836 people losing their lives in the Hurricane and subsequent floods. The storm is estimated to have been responsible for $81.2 billion (2005 U.S Dollars) in damage, making it the costliest natural disaster in US history.

And in the united Kingdom in June and July 2007 yet more misery in the form of torrential rainfall that has seen homes, businesses and lives destroyed throughout many parts of england, scotland, ireland and Wales. And whilst the storms in the UK havent been on the scale of those witnessed in the Far East and united States, lives have been lost and the clean up operation is just underway.

So with further rainfall forecast in the UK the UKs Business insurance Broker, Northern Counties insurance, have produced these useful tips which businesses can follow to help them both pre and post loss should they be hit by flooding.

Pre Loss tips include:

1. Ensuring that where possible all electrical equipment and stock is stored at least four feet above ground

2. Turning off electrical equipment (excluding burglar alarms)

3. Turning off the supply to central heating units if these are at ground level

4. Whenever and wherever possible moving vehicles to high ground

5. Sand bagging the premises if there is a high exposure to potential flooding

6. Consider constructing gullies to funnel water to drains

7. Clearing all drains and gutters on and around the premises of leaves and any other obstructions to allow an unrestricted flow of water

8. Moving high value items away from unmanned premises

This is by no means a comprehensive list of actions you could take prior to a flood but by following them your chances of a loss occurring could be significantly reduced.

So what action can you take in the event of a loss occurring?

Post Loss tips include:

1. Removing debris where possible. However if the debris is in any way contaminated, you may need to contact the emergency services first.

2. Saving items of value for inspection

3. If stranded, contact the emergency services immediately

4. If possible allowing ventilation to the premises

5. Consider up to 500 of emergency repairs to mitigate future losses

6. Take all appropriate and reasonable measures to protect the premises from future flooding

7. Contact your insurance broker or insurance company immediately so they can help make sure your claim is dealt with as quickly and as favourably as possible

Hopefully the weather like we have seen in the summer of 2007 will be a freak occurrence that doesnt hit us again but should storms and flooding continue hopefully these Useful Tips for Avoiding Flood Damage will go some way to help you out.

CSI: The anatomy of an Uber Franchise

The csi formula seems very simple: film noire with copious violence mixed with high brow techie detective work. part Quincey, part X-files, csi has become an international phenomenon spawning a host of extracurricular projects including two highly successful spin-offs - csi Miami, and csi NY. Looking back over the success of csi, its hard to imagine that it wasnt a hit from the beginning; none-the-less, the show that came to be the yard stick for police procedurals struggled in the beginning to secure a place on the top ten in its freshman 2000 season. just two seasons later, csi landed in the top three most watched for the season with a staggering 26.2 million viewers; a number not so uncommon in short run high-profile reality shows like American Idol, but completely unparalleled for a drama.

part of the csi phenomenon has been its social impact. Suddenly millions of viewers found themselves deluged with what they thought were the essentials of crime solving. Few other shows purported to educate viewers more on crime solving than csi. Surprisingly though, the techniques and procedures shown on csi are far removed from the real world of crime investigation. In fact, a lot of the technology used on csi doesnt even exist! This fact was so prominent in the show that the Saturn Awards, the Sci-Fi worlds equivalent of the Peoples Choice awards, nominated csi as a science fiction show at its 2004 awards ceremony (it lost). Crime fiction purists have used csi as a punching bag since it was released, pointing out numerous flaws in its portrayal of crime scene investigation. The most prominent is the fact that in csi, the Crime Scene Investigators actual participate in disseminating the information gathered from the crime scene in solving the crime. In real CSIs, the team merely captures and catalogues the information which is then given over to detectives.

Regardless of whether csi serves as a visual text book for crime scene investigation, The dynamic, percussive filming style of csi, seemed to educate an entire generation of film makers looking to make a stylistic splashdown. CSIs staccato cutting, skewed frame rates, chiaroscuro lighting, and destabilized hand-held work fuse into a visual styling that has proliferated onto the big screen.

The subject matter cannot be discounted though, csi is more than just a light show. Edgy plots that push the envelope of what is acceptable for violence and sexuality are the hallmark of the csi motif, making csi one of the most watched shows at the FCC offices as well. On many occasions, CBS has been admonished about the shows frequent place at the edge of acceptable broadcasting.

None-the-less, the csi producers, and CBS, have remained true to the csi formula. In 2002 the first attempt to replicate the csi formula was a grand success when csi: Miami, resurrecting a triumphant David Caruso, debuted to universal praise. While not the gate crasher that its progenitor was, csi: Miami opened in the top fifteen and has remained in the top ten since its debut. The second attempt, csi: New York, has yet to break the top twenty but continues to add in excess of fifteen million viewers per season to the csi coffers.

How long can it last? Will csi eventual succumb to the implosion of its formula ala ER and settle into an admirable, yet degrading holding pattern? While csi, and its offspring, dont seem to be slowing down, one can only remember that timeless aphorism that eventually all good things will come to an end.
